1969 9ct Gold Three Headed Green Spinel Serpent Ring Hallmarked Size U

£1,850.00Price
Quantity

An exceptional 1969 9ct gold three headed green spinel serpent ring, fully hallmarked for Birmingham and set with three tested natural spinel stones.

This impressive vintage ring features three individually modelled serpent heads, each highlighted by a natural green spinel measuring approximately 3mm. Beautiful engraved scales and ornate scrollwork decorate each head, while the substantial triple split shank gives the ring excellent presence and comfort.

Three-headed serpent rings are considerably less common than the traditional two-headed designs, making this a particularly desirable collector's piece.

The Symbolism of the Serpent

Serpent rings have been treasured for centuries and became especially fashionable during the Victorian era after Prince Albert presented Queen Victoria with a snake engagement ring in 1839. Symbolising eternal love, wisdom, protection and renewal, the serpent became one of the most enduring motifs in jewellery design.

Three-headed serpent rings are encountered far less frequently than the more common two-headed examples, making this an especially unusual and desirable collector's piece for collectors of vintage and symbolic jewellery.
