£2,500.00Price
Quantity

A beautiful late 19th to early 20th century bee brooch, expertly crafted in 9ct gold and platinum, featuring a faceted garnet body, cabochon sapphire head and sparkling old-cut diamonds.

The bee's body and head are crafted in platinum, while the legs and wings are formed from 9ct gold, creating an elegant contrast between the precious metals. The body is set with a rich 10 × 7mm faceted garnet, complemented by a 3mm cabochon sapphire forming the head. The delicate wings are highlighted with eight old-cut diamonds, adding a subtle sparkle that beautifully enhances the design.

The brooch is fitted with an antique safety clasp typical of the late 19th to early 20th century, which remains fully functional.

The Symbolism of the Bee

For centuries, bees have symbolised industry, prosperity, loyalty and community. During the Victorian and Edwardian periods they were also regarded as symbols of diligence, harmony and good fortune. Today, antique bee jewellery remains highly sought after by collectors for both its timeless symbolism and enduring charm.
