This is an exquisite and unusual antique Victorian silver and natural coral flexible wired wrap around snake bangle. It features intricate craftsmanship with rich details, which embody the elegance of the Victorian era. In 1840, Prince Albert designed a snake ring for Queen Victoria, two snakes wrapped round the finger in an enchanting symbol of eternal love. This made snake jewellery extremely popular during this time. The snake's head and tail are finely detailed and with the eyes containing emerald coloured paste stones for that extra touch of elegance. There are hundreds of small genuine natural coral beads. The bangle is flexible and would be best suited to be worn on the forearm or upper arm. It measures approximately 16" in total length when laid out flat. It has a 2.4" internal diameter approximately, though it has plenty of flexibility. The bracelet measures around 1cm in width. The snakes head is around 4.3cm in length and the tail around 4cm. It is in very good overall condition considering its age, with only one small bead missing that I can see, as pictured. It is a respectable weight at approximately 46.7g.
