This is a charming vintage art deco style 18ct gold and diamond cluster rectangular panel ring in a size P, US 7 3/4. The stones are set into a beautiful white gold setting, in an unusual pattern, with openwork and millgrain detail. The sides of the head of the ring are also adorned with scrollwork detail, some of which is a little worn. The head of the ring is a good size, measuring approximately 1.6 x 1.2cm, and the band is around 2mm in width and 1.5mm in depth and is very sturdy, chunky and solid. There are around 34 diamonds in total. 1 x 3mm, 2 x 2.5mm, 8 x 2mm and 24 x 1mm. I would estimate the total carat weight to be somewhere around 0.60ct. It is in good overall condition considering its age and is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1998 as pictured. However, it is possible that the ring dates to a much earlier time and was sent off for hallmarking in the 90's, though I cannot be 100% sure about this, it is just a hunch. It is a very respectable weight at approximately 6.1g. Box for display only but alternative new box provided.
