This is a truly stunning vintage soviet era 14ct rose gold magenta pink sapphire statement ring in a size L1/2, US 6. The sapphire is a beautiful colour and has an elegant setting. The stone is a good size, measuring around 1.5 x 1.2cm with a depth of around 8mm. An online carat weight calculator is saying that this stone would be somewhere around 11.5ct. I would guess that this is a lab created sapphire, which are grown using the same compositions as natural stones and are chemically identical. The band is nice and solid, measuring approximately 2mm in width and 1mm in thickness. The ring is a respectable weight at around 7g. It is in very good condition apart from a small file mark on the inside of the band where the gold has been tested at some stage, but this does not show when worn. It is fully hallmarked as pictured with a star and sickle for Russian soviet era, 583 for 14ct gold, makers stamp etc. Any questions please ask. Box for display only but alternative supplied.
