Beautifully combining craftsmanship, history and timeless design, this vintage diamond daisy ring features an older 18ct yellow gold daisy cluster with platinum-topped settings mounted onto a 9ct rose gold shank hallmarked in Edinburgh in 1941.
 
The daisy cluster is set with approximately 0.47ct of natural diamonds, comprising an approximately 0.11ct central diamond surrounded by six outer diamonds of approximately 0.06ct each. Fine milgrain detailing surrounds the cluster, displaying gentle age-related wear that adds to the ring's authentic vintage character.
 
The ring is engraved HSH together with the date 21/6/40, creating a fascinating connection to its past.
 
An especially interesting feature is the ring's mixed-metal construction. The older 18ct yellow gold head with platinum-topped settings is mounted onto a later 9ct rose gold shank. Whilst its exact history is unknown, it is possible that an earlier ring was remodelled during the Second World War. Wartime restrictions and precious metal shortages often encouraged jewellers and owners to reuse existing settings and gemstones rather than manufacture entirely new pieces. Although this cannot be confirmed, the ring's construction is certainly consistent with that possibility, making it a particularly intriguing piece for collectors.
